Less than two weeks ago, Katy Perry was named a Peoples’ Choice Award winner. And on Saturday night (January 19) at the Kids’ Inaugural Concert in Washington, D.C., she reestablished herself as an American favorite.

After Usher, Far East Movement and Mindless Behavior took the Washington Convention Center stage, Perry performed some of her biggest hits for the celebratory crowd. Daughters of military families chimed in (duh!), while older Obama sister Malia sang along to “Teenage Dream” (priceless). Watch that one above, then check out Perry’s latest live renditions of “Part of Me” and “Firework” after the jump.

The pop-political fireworks don’t stop here, though. President Obama‘s second inauguration is also set to be a star-studded affair, featuring performances by Beyonce and Kelly Clarkson.
