Keep an eye on Kids Of The Apocalypse, a new and appealingly mysterious group who made a massive statement with their debut single and video, “Masters Of The Sun.” KOTA, who describe themselves as “an anonymous collective from all over the world” — just go with it — defy easy categorization with “Masters,” a song that draws in dance and hip-hop influences with a sharp pop sensibility but doesn’t feel exactly like any of those genres. Here’s what it is: Expansive and orchestral, all dark maximalist doom and splendor, equal parts optimistic (a choir vocal is eerily sunny) and ominous, synth-drenched without sounding like club music.

Paired with a trippy Tumblrwave video and an ingeniously conceptual website, it wouldn’t surprise us all to see this track do a “Video Games” and go viral. Watch up top.
