Norah Jones To Perform ‘Ted’ Theme At Oscars

Did you know that Norah Jones sang the theme song to Seth MacFarlane‘s talking-bear comedy Ted? And that the song, “Everybody Needs a Best Friend,” is up for Best Original Song at the Oscars? And did you know Jones considers the Family Guy creator one of her friends? It’s all true! So it’s only fitting, then, that Norah has been invited to perform the MacFarlane-penned theme at the MacFarlane-hosted Academy Awards on February 24.

Of course, she won’t be the only classy crooner gracing the stage. Adele will perform her James Bond theme “Skyfall,” which is also nominated. Those two old-fashioned, horn-heavy tunes are up against tracks from Les Miserables, Life of Pi and something called Chasing Ice.
