Justin Timberlake saw that Alicia Keys was named creative director of Blackberry and was all “Pff, that’s kinda random, but not nearly ridiculous enough. I can top that. I brought SexyBack so I can do anything.” So Timberlake went and put on his superhero suit (a suit) and busted through the doors at Anheuser-Busch HQ, demanding that he be named creative director of Bud Light Platinum, the champagne of Bud Lights. And so now, he is that. (That’s a 100% accurate account of how that all went down, by the way.)

As creative director, JT will head “creative, musical and cultural curation” for the brand, selected because he is “one of the greatest creative minds in the entertainment industry, and his insights will help [Anheuser-Busch] further define Bud Light Platinum’s identity in the lifestyle space.” Stripped of the marketing buzzwords we think that all means he’ll appear at various promotional events and in various ads (ya know, like Pitbull with Bud Light, except these spots may actually make you want to buy the product). The first such ad will premiere during the Grammys on Sunday (February 10) and will feature JT’s “Suit & Tie.” So I guess you could say his comeback single has already…GONE PLATINUM.
