Beyonce’s “I Miss You” Covered By The xx: Watch The Goosebump-Inducing Take

Well how’s that for timing! After hearing Jessie Ware‘s flawless “Diamonds” cover, and pointing out that her version of Rihanna‘s hit showed hints of The xx, The xx have gone and done their own pop diva cover. The British trio took on Beyonce‘s heartrending, raw “I Miss You,” which was co-written by master of tortured love, Frank Ocean.

The band performed the song in Austin in December, and today posted the video as a Valentine’s Day treat. Despite the dual whisper attack of Oliver Sim and Romy Madley-Croft making the song seem less lonesome, their always-deft use of space and silence makes it feel just as beautifully empty and aching as the original.

So, does this mean we can all start dreaming about an Ocean-xx collaboration now?
