Well he may go by Snoop Lion nowadays, but Snoop is definitely in the doghouse right about now. The rapper (currently moonlighting as a reggae star) was served with a tax lien to the tune of $546,270.29. According to documents discovered by TMZ, the total arrives from two separate years of unpaid taxes, including $101,952.44 in 2009 and then a whopping $444,317.85 in 2011.

In 2008, Snoop owed $476k in back taxes, but handled that right after he found out. Maybe he’ll pay up for these other two infractions just as quickly.Snoop has been popping up in the media quite a bit for reasons both non-music-related (remember that Hot Pockets commercial?) and music-related. Before showing back up as Snoop Dogg for 50 Cent‘s “Major Distribution” video with Young Jeezy, Snoop was in the news talking about teaching kids the right way to start smoking pot. Once his financial issues are in order, perhaps Snoop Lion-Dogg can drop his twelfth studio album Reincarnated. The project will come with a film that details Snoop’s journey into becoming a Rastafarian.
