Oscars: Watch Jennifer Hudson Perform “And I Am Telling You” & Earn A No-Brainer Standing Ovation

The Oscars on Sunday (February 24) were billed as a celebration of song and dance in cinema, so the ceremony featured live performances from a slew of icons including Adele, Barbra Streisand, Norah Jones and Shirley Bassey. And while every single one of them was worthy of the big stage, and each performance reasonably could be argued as having been the best, it was Jennifer Hudson who stole the show. At the 2:55 mark up top, you can watch her commanding performance of “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” the song that helped earned her an Oscar in 2007 for Dreamgirls.

Just when we thought we’d heard this song enough times, just when we thought we’d seen enough divas belt out this Moment-inducing standard, J-Hud went and made us feel like it was our first time hearing the song. It was the most no-brainer standing ovation of the night.
