3. “Give It To Me” — Timbaland featuring Nelly Furtado & Justin Timberlake (2007)

Before David Guetta, RedOne and all those other super-producers that now bask in the spotlight, there was Timbaland. Shock Value dictated the soundscape of the late ’00s, housing hits “The Way I Are,” “Apologize” and “Give It To Me.” The interesting thing about the latter collaboration — a chart-toppinge smash in April 2007 — is how alien it sounds to anything on the airwaves in 2013. A grimy, bass-heavy hip hop track with a subtle-but-hypnotic chorus would struggle to chart these days. Which is sad, because this is a killer track.
