1. “Until The End Of Time” – Justin Timberlake & Beyoncé (2007)

The sixth and final single lifted from FutureSex/LoveSounds was a remix of an unremarkable album track featuring Beyonce. It seems almost sacrilegious to say it now, but this felt like something of an afterthought at the time, not to mention a chart disappointment, given JT & Bey’s absolute supremacy at the time. But like fine wine and Fiona Apple albums, this beautifully languid ballad has matured and evolved into something truly great over time. The “Raspberry Beret” sample signals the heavy influence of Prince, while the gentle shower of strings creates a palpably romantic atmosphere. “Until The End Of Time” wouldn’t sound out of place on Bey’s 4 or, from what we’ve heard of it, The 20/20 Experience. This 2007 Top 20 hit is well worth revisiting. If only there was a video!
