Skylar Grey: The Idolator Interview

Hey, it’s Skylar Grey! The singer-songwriter — who’s wrote Rihanna and Eminem‘s “Love the Way You Lie” and nabbed a string of her own hits as a featured artist with Diddy, Dr. Dre and Lupe Fiasco — has made a big splash as a solo artist with her lead single “C’Mon Let Me Ride” and is prepping for the release of her debut LP, Don’t Look Down.

Given her extensive list of credits, we had plenty of questions for Grey when she stopped by Idolator headquarters in New York — but we were most eager to hear about her new music — including a track with will.i.am on his upcoming LP #willpower (which has some funny origins) and the sound she’s developed for Don’t Look Down — but we covered a lot of territory, from her working relationship with mentor Eminem to her superstitions about the forthcoming LP.

Watch up top to get familiar with Skylar Grey.
