2013 MTV Movie Awards: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Perform “Can’t Hold Us”
Looking like a Salvation Army Sgt. Pepper in an embroidered blue military jacket, Macklemore and his musical partner in rhyme Ryan Lewis hit up the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night (April 14) for a performance of their “Thrift Shop” follow-up, “Can’t Hold Us.” The pair were backed by a mariachi band and soulful crooner Ray Dalton, who kept things lively on stage while Macklemore braved the crowd and walked on the hands of audience members.
By the end of their three-and-a-half minutes on stage, Macklmore had tossed off his jacket. But that was as risque as things got, despite the earlier rumor that he’d belt out the song while not wearing any pants.
