Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” Leaks, Probably For Real This Time: Hear The Track

UPDATE: You can stop debating about whether the below leak was real, because it was. We know this because the official radio edit has been released, and it is identical. So go listen to “Get Lucky”!

Ever since Daft Punk released that one-minute teaser of single “Get Lucky” featuring Pharrell and Nile Rodgers, the internet has been playing whack-a-mole with “real” leaked versions of the “full” track, which have all turned out to be extended remixes by enterprising music minds based on that initial snippet. So while we’re cognizant enough to do the whole “fool me once…” thing at this point, we’re gonna go ahead and say this latest leak appears to be the real version of “Get Lucky.” There are differentiated verses (the first one isn’t heard in the SNL video teaser), a chorus and that full robot breakdown.

Now, the album version could very well be some sort of 20/20 Experience-like epic with a few suites: this version is 4:06, and if you look back at the original Sony registration for the 13 tracks on Random Access Memories, none clock in at 4:06. The closest is 4:11, but “Get Lucky,” the eighth track on the album, is presumably “Track 8” on the registration and that track is mysteriously missing from the initial screencap. So! The case certainly isn’t closed, but this seems to be, if not the full, real version of “Get Lucky,” then four minutes and six seconds of the real version. Check it out below.
