Capital Cities’ “Safe And Sound” Video: Watch The Duo Dance Through The Decades

That Capital Cities‘ “Safe And Sound” isn’t a hit yet is a crime against all things music. The damn fine, feel-good electro-pop number has been bouncing around for a couple years now, and we’ve lost track of how many EPs and videos the quirky L.A. duo have released for it (not to mention how many ads it’s featured in).

That could all change for Capital Cities, now that their debut LP In A Tidal Wave Of Mystery is slated for a June 11 release on — you guessed it —  Capitol Records. Helping matters is the utterly joyful new video for “Safe And Sound,” which features band members/fleet-footed time travelers Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian roller-boogying, breakdancing, tap-dancing and doing the Hustle throughout the restored Los Angeles Theatre in the Grady Hall-directed clip. Fun stuff.

We’re just going to put it out there that, with a little luck, “Safe And Sound” could find itself having a dance-off with Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky” and whatever other early Song Of Summer contenders come shaking down the pipeline.

Do you agree?
