Hear Kitty’s Languorous New Song “Florida”
Florida rapper and walking thinkpiece generator Kitty has dropped a new song. And like her home state, “Florida” is warm, relaxed and somewhat off-kilter. Hot Sugar‘s beat is so languid and twinkly it’s almost nonexistent, letting Kitty’s feathery rhymes breeze along.
The rapper treads her usual territory on the track, with lyrics about self-doubt and escaping her eminently normal existence (“I don’t think I’ll make it hangin’ here another day / I wanna get spirited away”). There’s nothing here to suggest the song will convert anyone in the anti-Kitty camp (which, we’re happy to note, seems to be shrinking these days), but it’s a decent holdover for fans awaiting a D.A.I.S.Y. Rage follow-up.
