Snoop Dogg Was Once A High-End Pimp Serving Professional Athletes

Snoop Dogg has rapped about being a pimp (as has just about every MC), and he played the pimp-like Huggy Bear in the middling Starsky & Hutch film, but it turns out he actually was a real, selling-women-for-sex pimp for a brief stretch. And not even back when he was in the drug game! It was in 2003!

In the latest issue of Rolling Stone, Snoop (whom, I guess, we refer to as Dogg when he’s talking about odious stuff and Lion when he’s talking about gun control?) tells the magazine he ran a high-end escort service while on tour with Playboy in tow. He had a gaggle of ladies available to, well, himself and to any celebrities who happened to be hanging with him at his tour stops. Or, as Snoop puts it, “A lot of athletes bought pussy from me.”

“I put an organization together,” he said. “I had a bus follow me with ten bitches on it. I could fire a bitch, fuck a bitch, get a new ho: It was my program. City to city, titty to titty, hotel room to hotel room, athlete to athlete, entertainer to entertainer.” He added that pro athletes would “come hang out, pick and choose, and whichever one you like comes with a number.” How quaint!

Snoop says his “organization” was never about the money, which is why he let his ladies keep the profits. “It was about the fascination of being a pimp…As a kid I dreamed of being a pimp, I dreamed of having cars and clothes and bitches to match.” So there it is — follow your dreams, kids.

Seriously, though, it’s fascinating how Snoop has managed to somehow rise above some truly cretinous past behavior to become one of the most likeable celebrities in music.
