Kate Boy’s “The Way We Are” Video: Watch The Minimalist Dance Routine

We first introduced Idolator readers to Kate Boy in a recent Pop Goes The World feature, with their new song “The Way We Are.” Now that pulsating piece of Swedish synth-pop gets a video, and as with the quartet’s prior visuals for “Northern Lights” and “In Your Eyes,” it’s a minimalist, black-and-white affair. Unlike the other videos, this one features only the singer, Kate Akhurst.

The track finds Akhurst doing her best Karin Dreijer Andersson (of The Knife) impression (non-effects version), and the visual has her doing what Stereogum accurately described as slo-mo deconstructed vogueing. Akhurts is from Australia, but she’s clearly a natural fit with the icy sonics and styles of her three Swedish bandmates. Check out the video up top.
