Lola Blanc’s “Bad Tattoo”: Idolator Premiere

There’s a new pop songstress in town: Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Lola Blanc is ready to make waves with her new single “Bad Tattoo,” which Idolator is excited to premiere.

Produced by Jon Levine (Selena Gomez, Cher Lloyd, Nelly Furtado), “Bad Tattoo” is a bouncy pop record with major edge, courtesy of rock influences, pulsating electronic production and Blanc’s high-attitude vocal delivery. The song talks about being stuck in a relationship that you can’t seem to shake off, but Blanc takes it one step further, saying: “It’s about being with someone who’s kind of embarrassing, but loving them anyway. Like when you go to a movie with a guy and he laughs louder than anyone in the theater, but the kiss afterward makes up for it? It’s like that.”

It’s great timing for Blanc to launch, given that the talented pop scribe just notched the biggest songwriting credit of her career: She penned Britney Spears‘ song for The Smurfs 2 soundtrack, “Ooh La La.” As she explains: “We originally wrote ‘Ooh La La’ for me — it was me, Fran Hall and Ammo. I came up with the title, which was sort of a play on my name, and then Dr. Luke heard it and was like, ‘I want this for Britney!'”
