The xx Drop Shadowy “Fiction” Video: Watch
Brooding bassist Oliver Sim is the star of the show for The xx‘s “Fiction” video (although his two bandmates make brief appearances). You know the scene in the first Hangover with shots panning across the hotel room as Ed Helms‘ character surveys the damage the morning after? It starts kind of like that, but with this pasty character surveying the scene at night while everyone’s still asleep.
Then things go outside in the moonlight, and we get some lovely desert shots that employed a very economic use of light. It’s bringing back fond memories of the last time we saw these guys perform, out under the desert moon at Coachella.
