Katy Perry Talks Russell Brand & John Mayer In ‘Vogue’ Cover Story

The image of Katy Perry on the July cover of Vogue already made the rounds last week; she was shot by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz (who finally got to pay off her T-Mobile bill) and styled in a lot of beautiful couture gowns on a farm somewhere (because #fashion, or whatever).

That said! These are sickening times we live in, folks, sickening times, because the pull quotes that are being reported from the cover story are about Perry’s relationship rather than what I really want to know (which is, of course, her work on the hotly anticipated follow-up to Teenage Dream.) Awful. Just awful.

So, as she tells Vogue on the subject of ex-husband Russell Brand: She was “in love with him when I married him” in 2010 when they wed, and she blamed herself for their breakup until she “found out the real truth,” which she “can’t necessarily disclose.” (For the record, I have no idea what that means either.)

She also said she was “madly in love with” John Mayer, who she described as having a “beautiful mind” and a “tortured soul.” Sounds #dark.

As for new music, here’s hoping there’s some mention of that when the full cover story is released.
