Beyonce’s Next Album: “They’re Still Trying To Figure Out What They Want That To Be,” Says Ne-Yo

Hey! Looking for news about Beyonce‘s new album? Hoping to, say, buy a new single on iTunes, or watch a music video that isn’t a commercial for a multi-billion dollar global conglomerate? Sorry! Not going to happen. Instead, I’ve got singer/songwriter/hat enthusiast Ne-Yo on the record saying a string of positively framed but ultimately terrible things about Bey’s next era. Onward!

Billboard caught up with the “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself)” crooner at an event for Unilever’s Fruttare ice cream bars (because #2013) yesterday, where he talked about his work on the project which is still, um, in process: “I’m still putting stuff together for Beyonce’s album,” he said. “They’re still trying to figure out what they want that to be, which I’m not mad at. Beyonce’s the kind of artist where you’re not gonna see it till it’s right. And her fans — they love her so they’ll be patient.”

Oh, Ne-Yo. You overestimate the Hive.

In related news, Kelly Rowland has an album out.
