This week was stacked with new album releases, giving us brand new LPs from J. Cole, Kelly Rowland, and of course, Kanye West‘s YeezusAnd if that wasn’t enough new music for you, we got brand new singles from Victoria Justice and Kelly Clarkson, too.

With the official start of summer upon us, our staff at Idolator shared their favorite 2013 summer jams: From Avril Lavigne to Daft Punk, our writers plead their case as to why these tracks deserve a spot on your summer playlists.

Miley Cyrus continued to remind us she can’t be tamed with her exuberant interviews in Billboard and Rolling Stone, as well as the premiere of her twerktastic music video for laidback seasonal smash, “We Can’t Stop.”

Check out some of this week’s best comments below!

:: When we asked what this teenage girl was texting while she was on stage being serenaded by Cody Simpson in LA, Kevin R. read her text out loud in this week’s Caption This: “Justin Bieber looks different in real life.”

:: While we’re a bit frustrated at the lack of new Beyonce music, Sam Scarcello made a pretty accurate statement about the superstar’s high status on Beyonce’s “Standing On The Sun”: Hear A New Snippet, Or Whatever: “The thing is, she can do this and once the new music hits, everyone will forget they were even angry with her.”

:: After first week sales predictions for Kelly Rowland‘s album turned out to be slightly disappointing, the Rowland Stones voiced their concerns on Kelly Rowland’s ‘Talk A Good Game’ Set For Lower Than Expected First-Week Sales. Drew commented: “I really want this to be Kelly’s year! The album was great… much better than Keyshia’s new album (all she did was cry). Kelly actually reflected and tried some new things… SMH.” Marly felt the album’s release date was to blame: “Her album is underperforming solely for the fact that she released it on the same day J.Cole & Kanye’s albums were released. Let’s face it, she has no match. I love Kelly but it was a bad idea to do so.”

:: The new Miley Cyrus music video had our readers up in arms about the quality of the clip on Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop”: Watch The Wild, Bizarre Video. Naomi wrote: “This video is just a mess on its own. That’s all I have to say.” JenR meanwhile, had no time for this: “I think it’s silly. It’s a pretty tame teen rebellion if you ask me. Look at me! Look at me! I’m rebelling! Hee hee!”

:: Lisa was impressed with American Idol finalist Jessica Sanchez on 7 Questions With Jessica Sanchez: The 17-Year-Old Talks About Zedd, Her Next Single & More: “She has grown into a fine young lady. Her voice is amazing and I love her Me You & The Music album. All the songs are worth being played on the radio. I wish her well and may she stay humble and sweet.”

:: After the announcement of Dannii Minogue‘s return to the music scene, Henric left an enthusiastic note on the pop stars return on Dannii Minogue Ready To Put The Needle Back On It?: “Dannii will always be my number one. For me she can’t do anything wrong when it comes to music. Loved her voice since I first fell in love with her album Girl. It’s time to let the world hear her voice again, and I’m excited! =))”

:: As we named Robin Thicke‘s “Blurred Lines” one of our favorite songs this summer, Jay spoke highly of the R&B crooner on Will Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” Be 2013′s Song Of The Summer?: “His music has never quite been tailor made for radio….not that it’s bad or anything, the guy is super talented but radio would rather play crappier songs that people will forget about in a year. He’s always been underrated but he has a fan base and he is respected so it’s not like he is in complete obscurity prior to “Blurred Lines.””

:: Readers were not happy that Ke$ha has been reduced to opening for Pitbull on Ke$ha Is Still A Crazy Kid: Live At The Hollywood Bowl, including DT Butterkiss: “Finally, a great article capturing the truth of the spirit of Ke$ha. I agree she shouldn’t even be touring with Pitbull. His mainstream Miami club scene crap just doesn’t fit with Ke$ha’s more creative and original whiskey and glitter vibe. Not the same audiences.”

:: Finally, BeautifulEraNow stated his opinion loud & clear on “Will Mariah Carey & Miguel’s “#Beautiful ‘ Be 2013’s Song of the Summer?: “YASS DAHHLING!! #Beautiful is DEFINITELY GOING TO BE THE SONG OF THE SUMMER! It has a great vibe, that makes you wanna party in the pool, and the lyrics are SOO fitting for a nice, #Beautiful day!”
