Watch The Roots Cover Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” In The Style Of Simon & Garfunkel
Last night (June 19) on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Roots covered Daft Punk‘s Pharrell-featuring smash, “Get Lucky.” Well, part of The Roots. And they didn’t cover it as The Roots. There are levels here: band members Questlove and “Captain” Kirk Douglas did an acoustic cover of the song as fictional duo Black Simon & Garfunkel (get it, because of the hair, and the height differential and the skin color?).
As you can guess this version was quiet and harmonious. And mildly funny. The frustrating thing is that the actual Roots could probably turn out a really solid cover of the song. Guess we’ll have to wait for that one.
