Drake Sets ‘Nothing Was The Same’ Release Date, Drops Four New Songs

“The album coming out September, just wait for me,” Drake raps in Migos‘ “Versace,” a cut released Friday night. Still, the Toronto rapper could not resist creating more buzz for his next album Nothing Was the Same. At 3 a.m. Saturday, he dropped four new songs total as he announced that his new album will be out September 17.

While Drake lends guest verses to “Versace” and PARTYNEXTDOOR‘s “Over Here,” he takes the lead in two other new songs. In “The Motion,” featuring Sampha, Drake warbles and raps to harrowing vocals that recall his collaborations with The Weeknd (“The Zone”). And in a freestyle titled “Jodeci” — as in, “Bitches screaming like Jodeci’s back” — J. Cole chuckles and claims, “Too cool for school, n—-s I’m Columbine,” a verse that sounds like an outtake from Born Sinner‘s confident, if not ignorant intro “Villuminati.”

Check out Drake’s newest verses after the jump.
