Samantha Jade’s “Firestarter”: Hear The Aussie Diva’s Huge Dance Single

The lovely Samantha Jade is a big deal in her native Australia — after floundering in mid-obscurity for a few years, she eventually won the fourth season of The X Factor down under, catapulting her into proper stardom — and man, her new single may not ever make it across the mighty Pacific to grace our stateside shores, but it would be so wonderful if it did.

The lead single from her forthcoming third studio album, “Firestarter” is a pounding house track that follows up her excellent post-X Factor debut single “What You’ve Done To Me” — but while that felt more Scandinavian in its sensibilities, this is straight Europop: A minimalist, David Guetta-feeling beat leads into a chorus that’s properly enormous, with a wobbly drum-and-bass current to the production.

Can we get a huge dance remix to service to the United States market, please?

Listen below.
