Jay-Z’s “BBC” Features Nas, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake & More: See The Lyrics

Jay-Z‘s “BBC” may appear in title like an ode the hard-hitting British news network of the same name, but a slew of all-star collaborators — Nas, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland — assist here in illustrating a consequence-free, globetrotting lifestyle for Hov’s album Magna Carta Holy Grail. The song’s most sentimental line? “R.I.P. to Gianni,” a lyric that likely references the founder of Versace. Its most unapologetic? “It’s Britney …,” as in how Rick Ross once called out Miley Cyrus. (The lyric’s next word is left blank, but Britney fans know what it is.)

“BBC” also boasts, “Pharell’s [sic] a pharaoh / peep the features,” a lyric that could easily speak of Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail guests, as revealed thus far: “Oceans” features, well, Frank Ocean; “Part II (On the Run)” features Beyonce; “Holy Grail” features Timberlake and references Nirvana; and “Heaven” lifts an R.E.M. hook to neatly sum up all that Jay-Z’s rapped about, ever (“That’s me in the corner, that’s me in the spotlight / losing my religion”).
