50 Cent Charged With Domestic Violence, Issues Swift Denial

Rapper 50 Cent was charged with domestic violence and four counts of vandalism this week in Los Angeles, a city attorney said. His ex-girlfriend, with whom he was in a relationship for three years and has a baby, alleges that he arrived at her Los Angeles condo on June 23, where he kicked her and caused $7,100 in damage to her home during an altercation.

In a statement, his lawyer said that 50, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, denies the charges: “Curtis Jackson [50 Cent] denies these allegations as made against him. It is important to note, Mr. Jackson has not been arrested and there is no warrant outstanding for his arrest.”

TMZ has been speculating about the identity of the as-yet-unnamed complainant, but that’s really gross, so I’m not going to link to it.

If convicted, he could face up to 5 years in prison and $46,000 in fines. He is due to be arraigned on July 22.
