Skylar Grey released her long-awaited debut album Don’t Look Down this week but you won’t hear one of its best tracks on the finished version. Instead, the tender ballad “Only Thing I Hear” has been relegated to bonus track status — on Spotify of all things!

It’s a curious decision because the “Wear Me Out” singer’s story of star-crossed lovers is as endearing as it is timeless. “My parents say that you’ll never amount to much,” begins Skylar before telling her bad boy why she’s a ride-or-die kind of girl. Listen to the acclaimed songwriter’s optimistic take on what sounds like an ultimately doomed romance after the jump.

Do you agree that “Only Thing I Hear” deserved to be on Don’t Look Down? Vent your frustration or relief at its absence from the final tracklist in the comments below.
