Beyonce’s “Grown Woman” Gets The Monsieur Adi Remix Treatment: Listen

Beyonce‘s long-awaited maybe-single maybe-just-a-Pepsi-jingle track “Grown Woman” has leaked in about a dozen different incarnations, from snippet to demo to pop remix — but this latest version is definitely the most listenable. French house master Monsieur Adi (who’s been on a winning streak lately — did you hear his Neon Jungle refit?) has put his dance-friendly spin on the track, and his mix is a surefire crowd-pleaser. Like, everyone in the clurb yelling “Werq!” and “Yas, queen!” That kind of thing.

There’s clapping and stomping and instrumentation that thuds and skitters, spaced-out and futuristic, and a beat drop with a lush synth break. It sounds tailor-made for voguing, a monster stormer, and it’s the first take on the single that has real hit potential.

To me, this production is way more appetizing than the organic, tribal vibe of the original (as it leaked, anyway, so who knows if that’s even the final version). According to Kick Kick Snare, it’s an official remix, so maybe there’s still hope for this song on the charts after all.

Turn it on and turn it up.
