Lady Gaga Gets Nude (Again) In NSFW Video For Marina Abramovic Kickstarter: Watch

You probably last saw performance artist/friend of famous musicians Marina Abramovic in Jay Z‘s “Picasso Baby” video, when things got pretty intimate as they touched foreheads. Well, Abramovic has teamed up with Lady Gaga for a new project, and things are much, much more intimate. “Lady Gaga full frontal nudity” intimate.

The video, called The Abramovic Method: Practiced By Lady Gaga, is described with the following New Age-y blurb: “Last week at a three-day retreat in upstate New York, Marina instructed Lady Gaga in the Abramovic Method — a series of exercises designed to heighten participants’ awareness of their physical and mental experience in the present moment.” So what does that entail? Gaga chanting while splayed out on the ground, Gaga standing in the middle of a stream with a very Gaga-esque mask on, and Gaga doing a bunch of weird shit in the nude.

The video has a real Lars von Trier feel, which is cool and all, but you’re probably wondering, just what is the point of all this? Well, there’s a very reasonable explanation.

The clip is part of a Kickstarter fund for the Marina Abramovic Institute, which “will be the first space dedicated to practicing the Abramovic Method, which prepares participants to both perform and observe long durational work.” I don’t know about you, but I’ve always been griping about this country’s lack of spaces dedicated to long durational work.
