Watch HAIM Cover Sheryl Crow’s “Strong Enough”

The three sisters of HAIM were raised on ’90s radio, and their music refracts all those influences into an exciting pop tangle. Amidst their cornucopia of reference points, though, is a clear reverence for strong female acts from that era: Fiona Apple, Alanis Moriessette, Spice Girls. And, of course, there’s Sheryl Crow, who similarly churned out rock music slathered in pop sensibility.

So it makes sense that the L.A. band recently covered Crow’s 1995 hit “Strong Enough” for Australian radio station Triple J’s Like A Version series. Lead singer Danielle Haim offers up huskier vocals, as well as a smooth guitar solo, and the gals add some synth to the earthy song. Check it out up top.
