Teen Choice Awards 2013: Watch Lea Michele’s Tearful Speech About Cory Monteith
Glee‘s Lea Michele won the Choice TV Actress In A Comedy surfboard at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards, and her speech was not only the most memorable of the night, but perhaps also of the entire year, as far as these shindigs go. Michele’s co-star and real-life boyfriend Cory Monteith passed away in July following a night of illicit drug use, and she used the moment to pay tribute to him.
“Whether you knew him personally or just as Finn Hudson, Cory reached out and he became a part of all of our hearts,” Michele said through tears on stage. “And that’s where he’ll stay forever. So thank you so much.”
