Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke To Perform At MTV Video Music Awards

Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke have been added to the stellar lineup of performers at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. We were getting a little worried, because it would’ve been a crime to hold this year’s VMAs without inviting Robin Thicke to do “Blurred Lines.” It’s not that we need another televised performance of the track, but as the song and video of the summer, Thicke earned his spot, so we’re glad it all fell into place. By the way, Thicke says he has “some big surprises planned” for the gig, so maybe we’ll see Pharrell and T.I. join him.

As for Miley, it was already pretty much assumed that she’d perform, on account of the remarkably weird-ass video for “We Can’t Stop,” as well as the VMA trailer touting a Miley “appearance.” Also scheduled for a mystery “appearance”: One Direction.

This will be both Miley and Thicke’s debut performance on the VMAs. They join previously announced performers Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Katy Perry and (probably) Daft Punk, and it all goes down August 25 live from Barclays Center on MTV.
