Lana Del Rey Confirms Some Leaked Tracks Were Intended For New Album, Feels “Invaded”

As much as we have all enjoyed gorging ourselves on the slew of leaked Lana Del Rey tracks that have surfaced over the past month or so, Del Rey is pretty bummed out about it all and may subsequently alter her album plans. The singer revealed in an interview with Radio.com that some of these songs were improperly lifted from her hard drive three years ago, while others, like “Black Beauty,” were intended to be included on her as-yet-untitled sophomore album. Del Rey admitted the leaks could interfere with the tracklisting for the new record, saying “I do feel discouraged, yeah. I don’t really know what to put on the record. But I guess I could just put them on and see what happens. Each time I write… I’ll never write a song if I don’t think it’s going to be perfect for the record.”

To add insult to injury, Del Rey has slowed down her work on new music after all the leaks “’cause my life is like completely invaded.” Is everyone happy now? Ugh, one minute we’re reveling in the illicit thrill of listening to a leaked demo of “True Love On The Side,” and the next minute we’re responsible for plunging Lana Del Rey into an existential crisis. This happened. We are all witnesses.
