Watch Natalia Kills Talk High Drama, Big Songs & Getting Into “Trouble”: Idolator Exclusive

Real talk: Natalia Kills‘ upcoming LP Trouble (out September 3 — pre-order here) is one of my very favorites of the year. To say that she’s evolved from Perfectionist would be underselling things — there’s a maturity, vulnerability and grit in these songs that makes them super magnetic and compulsively replayable.

It makes sense, then, that when Kills dropped by Idolator headquarters to talk about her new tunes, she seemed authentically herself — as comfortable discussing her troubled past as she was delving into the details of why working with the album’s executive producer Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West, Taylor Swift, fun.) produced such extraordinary songs.

To hear her take on the brilliant “Saturday Night” (in my opinion, the best song of her career), watch up top, then head after the jump for Kills’ take on the sudsy “Problem” and on what to expect from her upcoming LP.
