Empire Of The Sun Invade The Suburbs In Ever So Slightly Futuristic “DNA” Video: Watch
Empire Of The Sun are known for their lush, exotic videos. The Australian electro-duo have trekked through deserts and strolled across remote beaches (and that was just “Alive”). This time they focus on a valley — California’s San Fernando Valley, to be exact. Yes, Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore catch a bus (!) to the suburbs of Los Angeles in their trademark intergalactic space invader costumers.
The clip is set in the not so distance future of 2014, so this could totally happen. After arriving at their destination, the guys navigate their way through the concrete jungle — stopping to pick up snacks at a convenience store and crash a party. It’s initially jarring to see the pair in an urban environment but the clip is beautifully filmed and somehow suits the woozy electro-pop meets retro rock vibe of “DNA”. Watch up top.
