‘V’ Magazine Drops Four Cover Stories On Lady Gaga

Like a few fashion magazines, V published several covers for its latest issue. Unlike its competition however, V decided to release one story to correspond with each cover — so yes, four stories on ARTPOP star Lady Gaga altogether.

In an excerpt from one piece, Gaga chats on the phone with performance artist Marina Abramović, a recent collaborator. (Jay Z must have been jealous.) Gaga starts to talk about pop art. “I thought about Pop Art and how the dominant subject matter was always the celebrity or the pop-culture icon on the canvas, and then I thought to myself,” she said.

“But what I have tried endlessly to become through my work is a celebration of my differences through art, with myself as the canvas, as opposed to me as the subject matter, being put on the canvas.”

Clearly, Gaga seems to have a lot to say and show with ARTPOP. Revisit her mostly-nude shoot in V‘s new video, up top.
