Pharrell In Talks To Work With One Direction

One Direction may soon get the Midas touch from Pharrell (not that they need it), partly thanks to 1D guardian Simon Cowell. The British kingmaker wanted the two acts to link up, and now Pharrell says the wheels are in motion for him to work on the British boy band’s forthcoming third album Midnight Memories (out November 25). “We are definitely talking. From what I’ve heard of their new stuff I’m pleasantly surprised,” Pharrell told the UK’s Daily Mirror. “Their new stuff is definitely a progression and an elevation. I will hopefully be getting involved as we are definitely in talks.”

Earlier this summer, Pharrell was photographed in the studio with Liam Payne, though that was likely just a meet-and-greet, but apparently Cowell wanted a true collaboration to happen. Not that Skateboard P needed much convincing. “I don’t think some people realize how hard those boys work. There is so much more that goes into One Direction than just the band. They are a brand and are huge. They are incredibly hard-working. I’m sure it will excite our female fans if we’re on a record together.”
