Miley Cyrus Spoofs MTV VMA Performance On ‘Saturday Night Live’ Skit: Watch

Miley Cyrus kicked off her one-night stint on Saturday Night Live with a bang, spoofing her headline-grabbing MTV VMA performance in a hilarious skit. The year is 2045 and America is now a post-apocalyptic wasteland. The reason for our destruction? Miley’s foam finger — obviously!

The scene then skips to the “We Can’t Stop” diva warming up backstage at the VMAs, when she’s visited by her old self (played by Vanessa Bayer), who warns her about the ensuing controversy. It’s cute — particularly when the duo sing together — and the script does a good job of point out how ludicrous the fallout from the twerk-fest was.

There are also funny cameos by Robin Thicke (accurately depicted by Taran Killam) and Will Smith (the handiwork of Jay Pharaoh). My favorite moment? When old Miley gives new Miley a Molly doll — “the American girl doll you keep singing about in all your songs!” Watch up top.
