Lorde’s “Royals” Gets Covered By Kids In Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Commercial: Watch

I suppose it had to happen eventually. Lorde‘s chart-busting smash “Royals” was always going to end up being used in a commercial, which — in turn — was always going to make fans want to delete it from their iPods. The song-ruining culprit? Samsung. They round up a bunch of kids to chirp the mock ode to luxury in their blockbuster Galaxy Note 3 mini-movie.

It’s a fancy ad, so there’s always that. A bunch of kids from an impoverished neighborhood sing Lorde’s hit to express their suspicion of soccer legend Lionel Messi before being wowed by his new construction. I think someone at team Samsung missed the irony in “Royals” or maybe they just didn’t care. You’ll either love this or hate it. Watch up top.
