Need the musical equivalent of a hug? Look no further than Plug In Stereo‘s new collaboration with power-pop duo Megan & Liz. “To Be Wanted” is the first taste of Trevor Dahl‘s (his real name) excellent new EP A Little Peace and finds the talented songsmith — he penned One Direction‘s “Truly Madly Deeply” — in an encouraging mood.

“We all just want to be wanted, be all somebody needs,” contemplates the curly-haired 20-year-old. “We’re all just looking for something that gives us a reason to believe.” That’s when his lovely duet partners step in to give some advice of their own, singing: “feel like you might come undone, well you’re the only one!”

Acceptance is the overriding theme according to Plug In Stereo, revealing “[the song] could be about a guy who wants to find a girl or a gay person who’s scared to come out.” Self-help pop is all the rage at the moment (see Katy Perry‘s “Roar”), so this is right on trend. It doesn’t hurt that “To Be Wanted” is also really catchy and boasts one of the best sing-a-long choruses of the year. Listen after the jump.

“To Be Wanted” hits iTunes tomorrow. Make sure you pre-order it and let us know what you think of Plug In Stereo’s latest in the comments below.
