Lady Gaga debuted ARTPOP track “Gypsy” at a listening party in Berlin today (October 24). Produced by Madeon and co-written by RedOne, the sprawling ballad was performed by Mother Monster on the piano and, in this form (the studio version is rumored to be a house anthem), is the most straightforward pop song to emerge from her forthcoming opus.

“I don’t wanna be alone forever but I love a gypsy life,” sings the “Applause”-loving diva. “I don’t wanna be alone forever maybe we can see the world together.” It’s a simple but extremely effective performance showcasing the song’s at times romantic, at times mournful lyrics and Gaga’s underrated vocal prowess. Mark this down as a potential ARTPOP highlight. Watch up top.
