Fifth Harmony Cover Spice Girls’ “Wannabe” In Concert, Get Endorsed By An Actual Spice Girl

Every new girl group has visions of becoming the next Spice Girls (although for my money, Little Mix are the likeliest to take that crown with their new single “Move”), but it’s not every day that an actual, honest-to-God Spice Girl endorses your performance of their song — and yet, that’s precisely what happened to X Factor songbirds Fifth Harmony (better known as Fifth Harmonslay in certain corners, like our office), who won praise from Mel B when they covered Spice’s “Wannabe” last night during a concert.

Their performance of the track was plenty lively (and they’re tough to beat vocally, as they proved during a live session at Idolator a few months back), but the real coup came after the performance, as Mel saw video of the set and sent some praise their way.

Credit Camila Cabello with a proper freakout.

Maybe that throne is still up for grabs after all.
