Cardiknox Animate ’80s Movie Posters In “Technicolor Dreaming”: Best Lyric Video Of 2013?

Cardiknox is a rising New York-based electro-pop duo with a killer new song called “Technicolor Dreaming” — it already reached the Hype Machine top 10 — and an even better lyric video. Inspired by straight-to-video movie posters from the ’80s, the super cool clip brings some rather questionable artwork to life through clever animation.

This is a treat for connoisseurs of video nasties (or epically bad/good ’80s movies). I spotted Adventures In Babysitting, Moon 44 and Joysticks but I’m going to keep watching until I get them all. Thankfully, the clip has a rather excellent soundtrack.

“I learned everything I know from watching movies, why can’t my life have a Hollywood ending?” sings Lonnie Angle over glorious old school synths courtesy of Thomas Dutton. If the Cardiknox vocalist keeps making great music like this, she might just get one. Watch up top.
