Katy Perry Bends Time And Stops A Moving Car In Her Glamorous “Unconditionally” Video: Watch

Katy Perry leaves her usual tongue-in-cheek antics behind in her visually striking “Unconditionally” video — opting for fashion and glamour instead. As a result, the big-budget extravaganza could be the Prism diva’s prettiest clip to date. It’s certainly her most mature and sophisticated.

Inspired by glossy film adaptations of period novels Dangerous Liaisons and Anna Karenina, “Unconditionally” finds Katy in an undefined era holding court in a fabulous ballroom while exquisitely costumed dancers move around her. It seems like a perfume commercial set to music until the stunning climax when the special effects take over.

There are exploding flowers, gorgeous underwater photography and perhaps the best music video moment of 2013 when a car crashes into Katy and literally crumbles around her. I’m not sure why there are automobiles in the nineteenth century but who really cares? Watch up top or after the jump if you get in early.

Watch the premiere over at MTV. Is this Katy’s best video? Let us know in the comments below.
