Britney Spears’ “Work Bitch” Gets The Jane Doze Remix Treatment: Idolator Premiere

Britney Spears“Work Bitch” is just the latest uptempo cut in a long line of monster singles from the pop legend, but for those fans craving something a little darker, Godney won’t let you down: The songbird entrusted New York-based DJ duo The Jane Doze with turning out an official remix of the track that takes it to dizzying new heights (or depths).

Trappy, glitchy instrumentation, distorted vocals and even the ominous cocking of a gun (blast ya, indeed) transform Spears’ pristine electro cut into something better suited for a grimy basement club than an Ibiza rave-a-thon; it’s thrillingly squalling and wobbly, positively Blackout-esque (and that’s saying something).

No surprise, then, that Spears has given it her official stamp of approval, including the mix on the Japanese deluxe edition of her upcoming LP Britney Jean.

“Everyone knows “Work Bitch” is a banger in its original form,” Jen Doze explains. “So we thought we’d take it in a totally different direction — trap. We sent it to the label for approval and a few weeks later we received an email that simply said ‘Britney approved.’ Needless to say we’re planning to print that email and frame it.” Obviously.
