Miley Cyrus Announces “Adore You” As The Third Single From ‘Bangerz’

In a victory for fine taste and good judgement, Miley Cyrus has settled on Oren Yoel-produced slow jam “Adore You” as the third single from Gold-selling LP Bangerz. According to a brief press release, the dreamy tune will impact top 40 radio on January 6.

While it’s unusual for a pop act to release consecutive ballads, dropping “Adore You” is a no-brainer. Hailed by critics as a Bangerz highlight and warmly embraced by fans (as displayed by its ongoing popularity on iTunes and number 42 peak on the Billboard Hot 100), the Stacy Barthe-penned poem has universal appeal.

Why? Because it shows how great Miley could be with the right material. Her throaty twang effortlessly sails over the minimal alt-R&B/country production, while the lyrics are as timeless as they are lovely. “When you’re near me I feel like I’m standing with an army,” she croons before simply declaring “I adore you” in the chorus. Listen to the superstar’s next hit after the jump.
