Beyonce just dropped her self-titled fifth studio album, featuring a video for each song on the record (and then some) — and she went high-concept in the video for her Frank Ocean collaboration “Superpower,” balancing out the low-level minimalism of the Pharrell-produced track with arresting visuals and a star-studded cast.
Yep, it’s a regular game of spot-the-guest-star in “Superpower,” as Beyonce plays anarchist leader, strutting through a parking lot and an alley, then eventually leading toward an armed SWAT team; she’s flanked most prominently by her DC sisters Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, as well as her tourmate Luke James and the song’s producer, Pharrell Williams.
