Angel Haze Just Leaked ‘Dirty Gold’ After Tweeting “F*ck You” To Her Label: Stream Her Debut Album

Update: Looks like somebody got to Angel Haze, as all the album tracks were removed from her Soundcloud page.

M.I.A. threatened to do it earlier this year after Matangi was perpetually delayed, but Angel Haze went and did it: she leaked her entire album to spite her label. This year saw increasing numbers of artists giving a big middle finger to their labels, and perhaps inspired by all that, Angel Haze pulled the coldest stunt yet, posting Dirty Gold in full on Soundcloud today (December 18) after unloading a string of tweets expressing her frustration with the label process.

“So sorry to Island/Republic Records, but fuck you,” she tweeted. “I got here doing this for my fans and if you guys don’t feel the same, it won’t stop me.” She finished off by posting, “Since they don’t want to put it out this year, I will. Here’s the album. HERE IS DIRTY GOLD,” accompanied by a link to her Soundcloud page with streams of all 12 tracks.

The oddest thing about all this? Just two days ago, Dirty Gold got an official release date of March 3. This is a straight-up punk move, on the level of Death Grips leaking No Love Deep Web last year — only it’s arguably more of a risk since this is her debut. Anyway, head below to see her Twitter rant and to stream the full album.

Stream Angel Haze’s Dirty Gold below (the titles are apparently mismatched, FYI):
