Selena Gomez Cancels Australian Tour To Find Herself

Selena Gomez has cancelled the Australian leg of her excellent Stars Dance tour — wait for it — in order to find herself. I’ve heard a lot of excuses for poor ticket sales over the years but this is definitely the most creative. “My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them,” the 21-year-old said in a statement.

“But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be. To my fans, I sincerely apologise and I hope you guys know how much each and every one of you mean to me.”

Australia is a tough market for pop acts (just ask Ke$ha and Pitbull), so her inability to sell out arenas is nothing to be ashamed of. But her excuse is worrying. The “Slow Down” diva was extremely out of sorts at Jingle Ball, is yet to release a third single from Stars Dance despite coming off another huge radio hit and now decides she needs to take time out to reevaluate her life. What’s going on?

Is everything ok in Camp Gomez? Have your say in the comments below.
