Rick Ross & Jay Z Are The Truth In “The Devil Is A Lie”: Listen
Rick Ross and Jay Z‘s latest collaboration dropped Thursday (apparently with new artwork), and this time their collab may actually live up to Rozay’s mammoth promises. “The Devil Is A Lie” features a blaring soul-trap beat, bringing to mind the infectious, vibrant melding of new and old heard on of Jay’s Black Album or Kanye West‘s “Touch The Sky.”
The two hip-hop kings show out and explain “The devil is a lie, bitch I’m the truth.” Ross opens by spouting off a string of internal rhymes about his luxe life, demonstrating just how much better he’s gotten on the mic in the past year or so. As for Hov, he sounds livelier than he has on any of his other guest spots from this year. Well done, dudes.
